Why is CPT12 changing its name?

We have always been a PBS station for Colorado and we’re embracing the PBS brand and its wonderful content and trust more fully. We’ve gone through name changes in the past and along with the PBS brand refresh nationally, it was time to align with a desire to present a more cohesive brand standard across the country. We still honor our rich legacy as a different kind of PBS station and we’re excited about the future under our new, more clear name!

Is your channel changing?

PBS12 will still be on channel 12 and Comcast 660 (Comcast 712 in Colorado Springs and Pueblo). FNX, First Nations Experience, is still on 12.2 (from 4 p.m. until 4 a.m. daily) and Comcast 251 (Comcast channel 393 in C.S./Pueblo). Our newest channel, DW, can be found on 12.3 or Comcast 252 (Comcast channel 394 in C.S./Pueblo). NHK World Japan is still on 12.4 and Comcast 262 (Comcast channel 395 in C.S./Pueblo).

Is CPT12/PBS12 no longer going to be a local station?

PBS12 is the same station you know and trust, just with a new name and look. We have the same programming (including hours of Colorado-focused shows every week), same people behind the scenes, and same commitment to our mission and community. We’re still broadcasting from our studios in the Five Points neighborhood in Denver.

Is the programming changing? Will CPT12 programs go away?

Our programming and schedule is not changing except for the addition of DW on channel 12.3 beginning March 1, 2020. Were still airing a bold mix of PBS programs and locally-produced documentaries and series. PBS12 continues to tell stories that matter to Coloradans including locally produced “Colorado Inside Out,” “Street Level,” “Sounds on 29th,” and other unique and original content.

Will any of your contact information be changing?

Phone numbers will remain the same. You can reach us at 303-296-1212 or Membership at 800.727.8812. For general information or comments, please email info@pbs12.org. Our website will change to pbs12.org, please update any bookmarks you may have.

Can I still check the schedule at CPT12.org?

Yes, the old cpt12 URLs will redirect automatically. Or you can just go directly to our schedule at www.pbs12.org/schedule/daily-schedule/.

I watch programs on video.CPT12.org. Will I still be able to do this?

Yes, you will still be able to stream programs online. However, the URL will change to video.pbs12.org. You may need to update your bookmark with the new URL.

Is my donation going to PBS now?

Donations to PBS12 do not go to directly PBS, they stay local like they always have. Same station, same programming, same people, same commitment to the community. PBS12 is still a community licensee serving Colorado. Your donations will continue supporting only our station.

I have been a sustaining member of CPT12, will anything change regarding my membership?

If you have been a sustaining member of CPT12, the only change is that you will notice your statement charge will begin to say PBS12. Your CPT12 sustaining membership will automatically transfer to PBS12.

Do I make my check out to CPT12 or PBS12?

Please make checks out to PBS12. However, if you accidentally make it out to CPT12, we can still cash it.

Will my tax receipt letter for 2019 be coming from CPT12 or somewhere else?

Your tax receipt letter for 2020 (and beyond) will be coming from PBS12.

Will I be receiving two different tax receipts for 2020, one from CPT12 and one from PBS12?

PBS12 is the same station as CPT12 has always been. You will receive one tax receipt letter for 2020 (and beyond).

Will my access to CPT12 Passport be going away?

You will still have access to CPT12 Passport. The only change is that it will now be called PBS12 Passport.

I am a viewer (either broadcast or Passport) from outside of Colorado. Am I going to no longer get PBS programs through you?

If you have previously had access to CPT12, you will still have access to PBS12. Our coverage area and services are not changing.
