Saturday Nights Get a New Music Lineup on PBS12 with Local Original Series’ Sounds on 29th Season 10 with new host Jessi Whitten and Head Room Sessions
Denver (October 1, 2021) – On October 2, 2021, starting at 7 p.m., PBS12 sets the musical stage with a new lineup of national and local music programs including all new episodes of Austin City Limits, now starting its 47th season, and local, original programs, Sounds on 29th, celebrating its 10th season and Head Room Sessions, now in its 3rd season.
Saturday music nights are a PBS12 signature go-to for fans of national and local musicians in genres that range from rock to country to R&B to alternative to pop. On the national stage, Austin City Limits, Front and Center, Sun Studio Sessions, and Lost River Sessions are featured. PBS original program Sounds on 29th returns for a triumphant 10th season with new host Jessi Whitten and highlighting the best in Colorado music videos and introducing a wealth of emerging local talent.
“For over a decade Sounds on 29th has championed the local creative community and we are honored to kick off the 10th season with our new host, Jessi Whitten, who is a veritable local music encyclopedia!” said Heather Dalton. “We are proud to continue on with this enduring legacy on Saturday nights with a wealth of other music initiatives including the return of a local fan favorite, The Head Room Sessions for a third season.”
Elle Naef, producer and cohost of Head Room Sessions, also expresses her eagerness to share the new programs in the works, “In honor of our fifth year as an organization and third season on PBS, Head Room Sessions has some special surprises! Tune in to catch the return of our puppet hosts, special feature episodes highlighting some of Denver’s most innovative creators, and more fun treats!”
PBS12 has championed music and musicians since its early days with FMTV and Teletunes and over the years has produced live music concerts at Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre, Denver’s Paramount Theatre, and more.
